Grass

If you’re looking for a grass that can survive all four seasons, Kentucky bluegrass is the best option for you when the month’s temperatures are cool. It is one of the most popular choices for lawns throughout the Midwest and forms a high quality, dense sod when grown properly. Kentucky Bluegrass ranges from bright green to deep blueish green and grows plush, perfect for bare feet!

How well do you know your lawn?

MOWING

  • Mow at 1.5-2.5 inches
  • Mow relatively high during warm months

IRRIGATION

  • Water frequently, every 1-3 days during the summer
  • Water only when the grass needs the extra moisture.  The ground should be moist but not soggy.

WEEDING

  • Most bluegrass lawns are thick enough to choke out most of the weeds.
  • Newly planted lawns and lawns that have thinned out over time both will most likely develop weeds and should be treated immediately in the spring.
